We started Tambua Health in 2019, as an interdisciplinary project. We wanted to investigate how physiological sounds could be used in the diagnosis of lung conditions. We tried a new approach to revolutionize the field: bringing together new ideas and advances in machine learning, acoustics, biomedical engineering, and electronics.
Our success is dependent on many teams joining together with a shared vision. No single discipline has all the answers needed to build medical devices and medical systems, and we've found that many exciting new ideas come from dedicated collaboration between different fields.
We conducted a clinical study showing comparable results to an X-ray in the diagnosis of diseases like Pneumonia
We received a grant from MIT and Harvard University to improve the diagnosis of respiratory diseases
We got funded by Y-Combinator Winter 2020
We started as a San Francisco-based team, and we have set up small teams and labs in different parts of the world. Tambua Health is home to some of the top acoustic, deep learning and biomedical researchers. Together we are solving some of the hardest problems in biomedical imaging.
